As a nurse and gun fanatic I would say you're experiencing the normal tinnitus (ringing) one would expect.No, the eardrum isn't ruptured but hearing loss is cumulative over a person's lifetime. By that I mean that permanent hearing loss adds up over time until you have severe or total loss. I use special earplugs that allow normal sound but block out gunfire when I hunt.
